






The department is headed by PhD in Mathematics, Associate Professor K.K. Ömerova. The faculty team consists of 17 members: 1 Doctor of Mathematical Sciences, Professor; 9 PhD holders, Associate Professors; 3 PhD holders; 2 Senior Lecturers; and 2 doctoral students. The department trains specialists in a single program, 'Information Technologies', with the first student intake in 2020. For other BBU undergraduate programs, the department teaches 'Linear Algebra and Mathematical Analysis', 'Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics', 'Econometrics', and 'Mathematical Methods in Social Work'. At the master's level, courses in 'Econometrics' are taught in Azerbaijani, English, and Russian. The faculty also teaches 'Linear Algebra and Mathematical Analysis', 'Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics', and 'Econometrics' to English-language students at the undergraduate level.
The department places special emphasis on research, including monographs, textbooks, teaching aids, articles, relevant programs, methodological materials, and lecture preparation. The library contains textbooks, teaching aids, and methodological resources for these subjects.
Enhancing teaching quality and training highly qualified personnel is a key focus of the department. The faculty has published numerous articles and books both nationally and internationally.
