Teaching at Baku Business University is organized according to relevant standards and regulations. To maintain competitiveness and train highly qualified economists who meet the requirements of a market economy, teaching is conducted following the legislation and regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, applicable to bachelor’s and master’s education, as well as the university charter and other normative acts. Bachelor’s and master’s programs are conducted through full-time and part-time departments across 2 faculties and 8 departments. To achieve high-quality training, the university provides the necessary facilities and highly qualified faculty. Departments organize courses by nomenclature, ensure methodological work is carried out at a high level, conduct research in the specialization profile, and prepare pedagogical staff. Departmental activities are regulated by existing legal and normative documents. Based on these documents, master’s and doctoral students are trained, work plans are developed for departments, academic workloads are distributed among groups and teachers, and individual teacher work plans, calendar-thematic plans, exemplary lectures, and practice schedules are created. Exams, thesis topics, and dissertations are approved, and monthly discussions are held to address assigned tasks. At the end of the academic year, faculty reports are reviewed and evaluated. Teaching processes, assessment methods, and exam procedures are continuously improved. One of the key components of improving teaching quality is applying a multi-point system to assess student knowledge. Since 1999, Baku Business University has implemented a new system for evaluating exams in all specialties. The "Regulations on the Multi-Point System for Evaluating Student Knowledge" has been prepared and distributed to all departments responsible for teaching.
The results of scientific research are reflected in printed monographs, textbooks, and teaching materials. Over the past 25 years, the faculty of the university has produced hundreds of large-volume monographs, textbooks, teaching materials, books, methodological guides, articles, programs, and other scientific works totaling 9,200 printed pages. Among them are 202 textbooks and teaching materials, 146 monographs, 1,385 journal articles, 1,049 theses, 1,262 programs and methodological materials. Some of these monographs and articles have also been published abroad. A multi-point system for student evaluation has been applied, and the "Student Handbook" has been published to regulate its implementation, standardizing exam procedures annually while preserving national mentality and aligning them with world standards. Conferences summarizing scientific research results have been a tradition at Baku Business University. From 1993 to 2018, the university held 9 international, 28 national, and 8 student conferences.

One of the main conditions for improving teaching quality is a material and technical base that meets world standards. Accordingly, the university built a modern teaching building of 10,148 m². While the Azerbaijani Ministry of Education norm specifies 5 m² per student in universities, Baku Business University provides 8 m² per student. In addition, the university has multiple language labs, computer rooms, and specialized laboratories for students.
