İbad Musa oğlu Abbasov

The Rector organizes the university’s structural units based on decisions of the Academic Council; forms general and graduation departments according to developed specialties; supervises the implementation of normative documents; ensures execution of approved university decisions and orders; oversees timely preparation of teaching-related documents in departments and faculties; organizes measures to improve teaching quality; ensures implementation of recommendations and proposals from relevant ministries, committees, and organizations; handles citizen reception and their applications and complaints; assists graduates in employment.

Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor İbad Musa oğlu Abbasov is one of Azerbaijan’s prominent economists. He defended his PhD in 1988 in Saint Petersburg on “Improving control and inspection in telecommunications enterprises” and his Doctorate in 2001 in Kazan on “Financial analysis in audit.” In 1993, he received the title of Professor. İ.M. Abbasov is the author of over 100 scientific works, including 4 textbooks, 5 monographs, 5 teaching aids, 2 methodological guides, numerous course programs, and scientific articles. His works have been published in prestigious journals in Germany, Turkey, and the Russian Federation. Since 1999, he has been the Editor-in-Chief of the journal “Audit.” He significantly contributed to training highly qualified specialists and serves as Vice-Chair of the Specialized Dissertation Council at the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University under the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He is the founder of the Audit scientific school in Azerbaijan and has participated in national and international scientific forums. He has been awarded honorary diplomas and prizes for his contributions to the development of economics and economist training in Azerbaijan.
