Baku Business University was established in 1993. Our university is a private higher education institution that performs highly qualified personnel training oriented towards business, economics, and management in Azerbaijan. Baku Business University was officially registered by the decision of the State Higher Expert Commission under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated March 13, 1993, No. 7/3, and began its activity with institute status. It was officially registered with university status on October 11, 1997, by Decision No. 204 of the Cabinet of Ministers. According to the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Education granted the University a license (special permission) and recommended the training of personnel at bachelor's and master's levels. On January 19, 2016, Baku Business University was granted an indefinite license by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

By the order of the Accreditation Council of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 28, 2024, No. AKŞQ-02, Baku Business University has been accredited for the next 5 years. For this purpose, a 5-year certificate (valid until 2029) with registration number AC00000014 was presented to Baku Business University by the Education Quality Assurance Agency of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 28.11.2024.

The educational process at the university is organized through 2 faculties and 9 departments across 21 specialties. Education is carried out at bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. Teaching at Baku Business University is based on the harmonization of theoretical preparation with a practical approach. Teaching and scientific-research internships are organized in relevant base enterprises and laboratories using modern and interactive methods. A teaching staff of 230 professors and lecturers is involved in highly qualified personnel training at the university.

The material and technical base of the university is formed according to the requirements of the modern educational environment. A rich library, computer rooms, language laboratories, specialized laboratories, teaching auditoriums equipped with audio-video equipment, a sports complex, an assembly hall, a modern canteen, and other necessary infrastructure operate here.

The main mission of the university is to contribute to the development of various sectors of the national economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan by aligning scientific research with international standards, to prepare highly qualified specialists with relevant professional competencies for central and local executive authorities of the country, as well as to provide the labor market with certified personnel based on international and national professional standards in the fields of business and entrepreneurship.
