




The admission of foreign citizens to Baku Business University is regulated in accordance with the Resolution No. 125 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 1, 2015, on the approval of the “Rules for the education of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan in foreign countries, and foreigners and stateless persons in the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
Admission of foreign citizens to the level of study corresponding to their previous education or to any area of additional education at Baku Business University is carried out on the following grounds:
Foreign citizens applying to study at Baku Business University must apply electronically through the “Electronic document admission” subsystem of the Centralized Electronic System of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan (portal.edu.az). Applications are registered in ATIS (atis.edu.az), and a personal account is created in the system for each foreign applicant. The applicant can track the current status of the application through this personal account. The applicant fills in the “Electronic application” in the electronic document admission subsystem of ATIS and attaches scanned copies of the following documents:
After the required documents are registered in ATIS, they are collected by the Student Admission Commission and discussed at the commission. The Language Proficiency Assessment Commission evaluates the applicant’s preparedness for the relevant education level and knowledge of the language of instruction.
Foreign applicants wishing to study in specialties taught in English are exempt from language assessment if they have achieved sufficient scores in one of the international English exams (for bachelor's level IELTS 5.0, TOEFL 40; for subsequent levels IELTS 5.5, TOEFL 50).
Foreign applicants in the following categories are exempt from language assessment if they do not change the language of instruction:
Based on the decision of the relevant commissions (Student Admission Commission and Language Proficiency Assessment Commission), a protocol is prepared. Based on an extract from the protocol of the Student Admission Commission, the International Relations Department prepares a submission and presents it to the Rectorate. On the basis of the relevant submission, the admission of foreign students to the university is formalized by order.
The originals of the documents required for admission are submitted to the Student Affairs Department after the student enters the country.
The organization of education for foreign citizens is carried out on the basis of relevant state standards and educational programs. Their education is organized in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on the basis of the credit system and approved curricula corresponding to educational programs in specialties approved by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
If a student cannot arrive at the university on time for valid reasons, the educational process is regulated in accordance with normative rules.
Foreign citizens studying at Baku Business University have the rights provided for in Article 32 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Education” equally with citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Foreign citizens must comply with the university’s internal discipline rules.
